About ActionGrove

I'm Amber Larson, and I started this site because most home-office advice is vague in exactly the place it should be specific.

"Get a good chair" doesn't tell you what seat depth fits your legs. "Position your monitor at eye level" doesn't tell you that the correct distance and height actually change with screen size. "Take regular breaks" doesn't tell you what's actually backed by research versus what's a popularized number from one productivity app's user data.

I write every guide on this site myself, after measuring my own setups — sometimes more than once, when the first attempt didn't fit the room I actually had. I lead with the actual measurement: the centimeter, the lux level, the weight rating, the formula. Where research exists, I describe what it actually supports rather than rounding it up to a confident-sounding rule. Where it's a judgment call, I say so.

You can read more about my background and how I research articles on my author page.

How I work

Every guide is written and reviewed for accuracy before publishing, and updated when my understanding of a topic improves or when better information becomes available. If you spot something that's outdated or incorrect, my contact page is the fastest way to reach me.

A note on affiliate and advertising content
